The Dior Collection: Proud Central (Gallery)

Hello Everyone!

Long time no see eh? Today’s post is more of a photo themed edition, as I am sharing with you my pictures from Proud Galleries (recently opened) ‘Dior Collection’. Located literally just around the corner from the National Gallery, the Proud Gallery is a photographic gallery which features a collection of pictures from a colourful array of past figures, such as; The Kennedy’s, The Beatles, Bowie, The Stones… to name just a few!

I first heard about the gallery when I saw an advertisement for their recent Audrey Hepburn Photo Exhibition back in 2018 which I loved, so when I saw that they were going to be hosting a Dior Collection, I knew that there was no way I could miss it! Ideally for my fellow Dior lovers and I, London has gone Dior mad! From the Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition at the V&A, to the aptly themed Dior Afternoon Tea at the Berkley and now Proud Galleries. I’m LOVING it.

The Dior Collection and the Gallery itself are free to visit, mainly because they quite literally are just photographs from the House of Dior’s amazing collection. I hope you enjoy a sneaky peak into the beautiful pictures they have on display!

(Side Note) I realise that the reflections (and the fact the lighting is constantly changing) in the photographs are annoying, and sort of ruin the pictures… but unfortunately there is no way to avoid them boooooo! – The only downside to visiting this gallery I’d say!

The Entrance to the Proud Gallery.
What a welcome into the Gallery! Glam pictures + Brief History = Perfect Gallery
Speaking of glamourous pictures……
I love this gorgeous pictures of Marilyn in the 60’s wearing Dior, you couldn’t put a more chic combo together if your tried!
A collage photo of some of the pictures on display
‘The First 13’ (1953) – Dior was very superstitious, so whenever he showcased a new collection he wanted their to be 13 models exactly to preview it.
The second photograph on display of Marilyn, equally as beautiful as the first one.
This photograph of Dior and Model was taken in 1954 in the Dior Salon in Paris. The photograph is an outtake from a Dior feature in LIFE magazine.
YSL for Dior. Not many people know this, but Yves Saint Laurent was originally a director for Dior! That is how he found his fame and established himself as the incredible designer he was.
Of course….even though this has nothing to do with the Dior collection, I couldn’t leave the two pictures of Audrey out (still on display downstairs in the gallery)

I obviously havent included all of the photographs on display in the gallery, so dont worry there is still more to see I just wanted to wet your appetite and give you a feel for the beautiful photographs on display!

The Collection is on until the 7th of April 2019, so get yourselves down there before you miss out!
