Dior at the Berkeley: Pret-a-Portea Afternoon Tea

Welcome back everyone!

Since London is suitably consumed by Dior Fever at the moment, I figured it would be insulting not to visit the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge to try out their new Dior afternoon tea, wouldn’t you agree?

Following the success of the V&A’s stunning Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition (link to that post below), London has not disappointed Dior fans, as galleries with stunning Dior pictures were shown earlier this year (Proud Galleries blog post below) talks and lectures about the fashion house seem to be popping up all over, and of course it would not be a suitable British tribute to the House of Dior without an afternoon tea!

So my best friend (Hey Krystal!) and I decided that we too could not miss out on this beautiful afternoon tea, and bit the (super-duper expensive) bullet and took ourselves off to The Berkeley Hotel last week where we had the most incredible and unique afternoon tea experience!

It is also worth noting that this Afternoon Tea is actually inspired and in collaboration with the Dior exhibition currently running at the V&A. All of the beautiful cakes are based on some of the exhibits on display at the museum, so if you’ve visited, or are going to visit the exhibition soon I would definitely recommend this afternoon tea as a follow up stop!

I really hope you enjoy some of the pictures I took, and that it inspires you to also go. Although, yes, it was expensive the experience was so luxurious and such a treat that it made it all worth it!

The colourful array of finger sandwiches… I have to say barring the top two Krystal and I were not fans of these bites! However, saying that we are both as fussy as anything… so maybe dont take our word for it ha!

The tea selection was incredible! Normally, I would chose a white jasmine or plain English breakfast but no! this time I opted for the vanilla black tea, it was beautiful!

The STUNNING Afternoon Tea. Words cannot even describe how blown away we were by the detail put into each of the cakes, it was so beautiful I literally could have cried. The Top layer was 100% our favourite part, I mean look at the Miss Dior bottle. I wish I could have kept them and not destroyed them in a hunger frenzy!
A close up of the cakes, each one was themed on a Dior clothing item which can be seen on display at the V&A’s Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition.
Whats this? A rare picture of me? and an even rarer picture of me actually outside of my house and wearing makeup and hair styled? Wow. Embrace it whilst you can lads, because I am talking to you in all of the aforementioned states.

A close up on the top tier. The Bar Jacket is a chocolate biscuit with icing, the Shoe is a shortbread type biscuit and the gorgeous Miss Dior bottle was a Lychee and Rose cake!
A close up of my Dress (see above) Shoes: Clarkes, oh and that beautiful box? that is actually the take away box from the afternoon tea, HOW.CUTE.?!
After our delightful tea, we went for a walk back to Knightsbridge station but decided to take the scenic route around. By that, I mean that we walked around the back towards Wilton Crescent (a beautiful spot that I would definitely recommend to other bloggers) and spotted the beautiful Dior store in Knightsbridge! How gorgeous is this window display and flower combo?
The Beautiful Wilton Crescent! Every year, Krystal and I visit Chelsea in Bloom and spend the day walking around and taking pictures of the beautiful displays. In the cross over point between Chelsea and Belgravia in Bloom, Wilton Crescent and this beautiful car seems to be sat waiting for that perfect photo op every year! (3 years so far- and counting!)
My look for the day.
